CMCC and Alibaba Sign Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Agreement



(Yicai Global) Dec. 8 – China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC) has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Alibaba Group (Alibaba) (NYSE: BABA) in Beijing. The two sides will have broad cooperation in four areas, including basic communication services, information infrastructure, marketing and emerging areas, the CMCC said on its microblogging Weibo account.

Neither company provided any further details about the nature of possible cooperation. CMCC and Alibaba and its affiliates have previously collaborated in joint projects in various fields, such as data centers, networks and other information infrastructure, as well as electric power suppliers and mobile payments, all of which created favorable business value for both companies.
