China’s New Energy Vehicle Output May Account for 40% of World’s Total in 2016

(Yicai Global) Dec. 12 -- China's new energy vehicle production is expected to account for 40 percent of the world's total this year, according to Xu Yanhua, a deputy secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

"The continued rise in output and sales of new energy vehicles suggests across-the-board progress throughout the entire industry," Xu said at the New Energy Vehicles Development Trends Forum in Beijing on Dec. 10.

The country made 84,000 new energy vehicles in November, up 16.2 percent from last year according to figures from the association. A total of 402,800 green vehicles rolled off Chinese production lines between January and November, up 44.3 percent year on year.
