(Yicai Global) Dec. 12 -- Dajiang Innovations Technology Co., the world's largest manufacturer of consumer-level drones had annual sales of over CNY10 billion (USD1.45 billion) in 2016, an increase of 60 percent from last year, 80 percent of which were contributed by foreign markets, Xu Huabin, vice president of the company said.
The company expanded its consumer-level unmanned aerial vehicles product line this year, so sales maintained linear growth, ThePaper.cn,
The company has achieved profitability, Xu said. As the company has not yet carried out big mergers and acquisitions, its cash flow is sufficient now as some large retailers, including Apple Stores, are selling DJI drones.
China is currently DJI’s fastest growing market. In the global consumer-level UAV market, DJI still maintains more than a 70 percent market share and is regarded as a weather vane for the entire industry.
“When customers go to America's largest e-retailer BestBuy to buy drones, most of them will choose the imported DJI products, just like we Chinese are very happy to buy Apple’s iPhones. This makes me feel very proud,” Wang Tao, founder and CEO of DJI said earlier this year.
