China Extends Anti-Dumping Duties on Fiber Imported From US and EU by 5 Years; No Change to Rate

(Yicai Global) April 21 -- China will prolong its anti-dumping duty on American and European dispersion-unshifted single mode fiber for five years, the Ministry of Commerce said today.

The ministry investigated the anti-dumping measures at the request of domestic firms.

The additional tax rates will remain the same. Imports from the US will be subject to rates between 4.7 percent and 18.6 percent, with European fiber taxed an extra 12.9 percent to 29.1 percent.

Dispersion-unshifted single mode fiber is used extensively in high-speed, long-distance transmissions, such as communication, trunk lines, cable television, loop feeders and other networks.
