Zhejiang to Launch 24 Belt and Road Projects, With Total Investment of USD17 Billion



(Yicai Global) May 13 -- Zhejiang will unveil 24 projects related to the Belt and Road Initiative, with a total investment of over CNY120 billion (USD17 billion), of which foreign investment will account for nearly 50 percent, said Liang Liming, vice governor of Zhejiang Province, during a press conference at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing this weekend.

Hangzhou Customs previously reported that among all Chinese cities over the past two years, Zhejiang province contributed the most to trade growth between China and the Belt and Road countries. Zhejiang province contributed 84.5 percent to the growth of the total foreign trade with the Belt and Road countries in 2016, with contribution to exports amounting to 91.6 percent and imports by 67.8 percent, respective.
