(Yicai Global) May 14 -- Construction projects of the One Belt, One Road initiative are becoming more attractive in certain economic locations in Germany, China News Service quoted German Ambassador to China Michael Clauss as saying.
Chinese investment in Germany grew rapidly last year, he said, adding that a number of spare parts suppliers had gathered around the port of Duisburg to help the structure transformation of the western Ruhr region.
If the conditions are right, the Belt and Road strategy will bring valuable business opportunities for German companies in high-tech, infrastructure and independent risk assessment, Clauss added. Construction from the initiative also offers the chance for cooperation between highly-specialized high-tech and infrastructure firms in Germany and China, especially in the third-party market.
“The key to the success of the One Belt, One Road is equal participation of all countries,” the ambassador said, adding that equivalence determines the future direction of economic relations between the two nations. Germany is willing to remain open to Chinese investment and looks forward to the country opening up further, he added.
