China Dive Unit Finishes Two Smart Underwater Robots, Gears for Production China Dive Unit Finishes Two Smart Underwater Robots, Gears for Production

(Yicai Global) Oct. 23 -- Two smart underwater robots developed by a unit of the Huizhou, Guangdong province-based wet suit and wader maker China Dive have completed prototype debugging and can now be produced in small batches.

The troubleshooting shows that the two robots developed by the wholly-owned subsidiary Shenzhen China Dive Robot have fully met design goals and customer needs, the parent company announced Oct. 21.

One of the two automata is a consumer-oriented camera product for diving enthusiasts, which solves aquatic robots' problems with positioning, tracking, and cable-free control. The robot's battery life, tracking speed, control performance and image quality have all reached an internationally advanced level, per the announcement.

Its detailed design has also passed internal review, with key technologies experimentally verified, the announcement stated.

Another diving robot will mainly deploy in marine exploration, including underwater topographic mapping, geomorphological imaging, marine environmental monitoring, underwater small target detection/identification/positioning, and oil pipelines and submarine optical cable inspections. The technical feasibility plan of the automated diver has passed internal review, the announcement said.

The two robots will be showcased at the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association show held in Las Vegas in the western US state of Nevada, from Nov. 14 to Nov. 17, the announcement added.
