(Yicai Global) April 16 -- Shanghai, the largest city in China, retained its spot as the nation’s most attractive city for foreign talent last year to collect the accolade for the sixth year running.
The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs unveiled the rankings at the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on April 14, state-backed online news agency The Paper reported.
Four key indicators made up the selection criteria for the rankings: policy, business, working and living environments. These contained 18 sub-categories, such as overseas recruitment policies, education for children, career development opportunities and others.
The results show that in recent years, Shanghai has adopted a more open overseas talent policy, accelerated the establishment of a globally competitive recruiting system and promoted a work permit mechanism under which foreigners could come to China to pilot visa programs, the report added.
