(Yicai Global) April 16 -- Tezign Information Technology Co., which runs platform-based marketing a creative services supplier Tezign.com, has secured tens of millions of yuan in new financing from Hearst Ventures, the venture capital arm of The Hearst Corp., Sequoia Capital China and other investors.
The funds will go toward recruiting more experts in artificial intelligence as well as the addition of teams focused on algorithms and sales, said Fan Ling, chief executive of the Shanghai-based startup.
Tezign resembles an app store where corporate clients can access a variety of creative resources. The platform has enrolled nearly 30,000 designers and can achieve mass application of their abilities and styles, and more accurately and quickly match the needs of large companies such as Starbucks Corp. and Unilever NV with designers using its novel AI technology.
The company’s revenue neared CNY30 million (USD4.8 million) last year. It expected to top CNY100 million this year, with 90 percent of it coming from the Chinese businesses of large multinationals like Starbucks and Unilever, Fan said.
The Netherlands and the US state of New York have a glut of design talent. After the platform completes the financing, it will also work to match the excess design supply in these places with rapidly growing demand in China, he added.
Tezign’s service areas include graphic design, illustration, animation and social marketing, according to its website.
