10th China Financial Value Ranking 2016 Closes in Beijing

(Yicai Global) Nov. 21 -- A series of events for the 10th China Financial Value Ranking were held in Beijing on Nov. 18 to 19 as the highlight of Yicai's 2016 annual financial conference season.

This year's events included the China Financial Value Ranking Award Ceremony (Beijing Friends 10th Anniversary Dinner Party), the Yicai Finance Summit (Annual Conference of China International Finance Society) and the Annual Financial Book Awards Ceremony. Yicai and China International Finance Society organized the finance summit, with academic support offered by the National Institution for Finance & Development. Yicai Research Institute organized the book awards ceremony.

The International Monetary Fund further lowered the expectation on global economic growth amid rising volatility in the financial markets. Brexit became the most momentous 'black swan' event of the year, and expectations of a rate hike by the US Federal Reserve continued to grow. With a close look at the Chinese economy, we see uncertainties mounting in the financial market with the economic growth model being reconstructed. Destocking efforts led to bubbles in the real estate sector again, and China is still under considerable pressure in addressing overcapacity and deleveraging. 'Re-regulation' has been added to the agenda to stop the chaos in the internet finance market. Furthermore, as a general trend going forward, 'technology +' has been restructuring the global landscape.

With the theme of 'Reconstruction and Re-regulation,' CFV 2016 recaps China's financial reforms so far and looks into the future of the Chinese financial industry. 2016 happens to be the 10th anniversary of the CFV. Over the past 10 years, CFV witnessed drastic changes in the global financial market and the rise of the Chinese financial market amid financial reforms.

Yicai announced the 'CFV Global Financial Game-changers of the World 2006-2016' during the CFV award ceremony held on the evening of Nov. 18.
