(Yicai Global) Nov. 17 -- Some 1,000 students from more than 50 African countries submitted their resumes online to apply for jobs at Chinese companies during a recent conference on employment in Beijing yesterday.
Many of the jobs offered are located in Africa, where more than 3,000 Chinese enterprises operate.
There are currently more than 60,000 African students studying and living in China. Enterprises want to hire African staff in order to better carry out localized management. Thus organizing this event is like building bridges, said Lin Yi, vice president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
In 2016, China's direct non-financial investment in Africa reach USD3.3 billion, up 14 percent from a year earlier, covering the construction, leasing and business services, mining, manufacturing, wholesale and retail sectors.
China's total investment in Africa has exceeded USD100 billion and Africa has become an important direction for Chinese companies to expand, says the Ministry of Commerce.
