(Yicai Global) Nov. 17 -- Airbus SE [EPA:AIR:ETR:AIR;BME:AIR;BMV:AIRN] has agreed a deal with the local government to establish an innovation center in the first-tier city of Shenzhen, located in China’s southern Guangdong province, the company said in a press briefing.
The facility will be the company’s second innovation center globally following a similar center set up in California’s Silicon Valley in the US.
"China will be the leader of the future flight. Airbus is willing to define and build the future of the global sky in joint hands with China," said Paul Eremenko, chief technology officer at Airbus.
The center will also benefit from advantages related to Shenzhen’s policy planning, talent resources, and favorable investment and financing environment to advance global aviation innovation, Eremenko said.
Airbus will also set up industrial development fund in the future to support the development of the related-emerging industries, said Luo Gang, chief executive of the Airbus China Innovation Centre. Keywords: Airbus, Shenzhen, Innovation Center
