(Yicai Global) Sept. 6 -- Sales of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the open world strategic battle royale game produced by South Korea's Bluehole Studio Inc., have surpassed 10 million, according to the firm's official Twitter account.
The game hit the 5 million mark in July, and managed to double that in just two months. Active Chinese gamers, which make up 22.9 percent of all players, are ranking among the top of all players worldwide, despite sales in the US being higher, said SteamSpy, a website that studies game data.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds could be the biggest-selling game this year, analysts said. The game is currently only available on the Steam platform for computers, but is set to release for the Xbox One this fall.
