Beijing's Air Pollution Is Still Mostly Down to Vehicle Emissions

(Yicai Global) Nov. 7 -- Vehicle emissions are still one of the major sources of pollution in Beijing, according to China's environmental protection ministry.

In Shenyang, the main contributors of PM2.5 particles that are dangerous to health are emissions from coal and vehicles, the ministry said on Nov. 5.

Heavy fog and air pollution appeared in most parts of northeastern and northern China last week, covering seven cities and provinces including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shanxi.
