Big Data, AI Service Company Bazhuayu Gets More Funds in Series-A Financing

(Yicai Global) Jan. 27 -- Big Data collection and application service company Shenzhen Skieer Information and Technology Co., which runs Bazhuayu.com, completed its Series-A financing and will use the new funds for development of "Big Data + AI + scenario-based application" technologies, online news site Lieyunwang.com reported.

The investor in this financing round was CITIC Capital, but the exact investment amount has not been disclosed. The company, often referred to as Bazhuayu, in English, Octopus, is headquartered in Shenzhen, in southeast China's Guangdong province and has a branch in Los Angeles, the US. It has technological advantages in such areas as enterprise data acquisition, integration, cleansing, analysis, and mining, it says. In recent years, it has been expanding into the AI field, including AI technologies such as natural language processing, machine learning, and mapping knowledge domain.

This has increased the value of the data resources exclusively owned by Bazhuayu and helped it win large data orders from mainstream AI companies.

The startup company held in-depth cooperation on Big Data solutions with various customers including governments, universities, credit score firms, and e-commerce outlets. Bazhuayu's overseas Octoparse became the fastest-growing data service product in English markets within just one year after its opening.
