(Yicai Global) Oct. 25 -- Chinese mainland stock markets closed slightly higher in the morning, driven by securities companies' equities that climbed by 1 percent.

The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, advanced 0.54 percent to 1,662.83. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.27 percent to 9,581.47. The Shanghai Composite Index went into lunch at 2,940.61, almost unchanged from yesterday.
