(Yicai Global) Sept. 22 -- China is in a critical period in its development of the Internet of Vehicle (IOV) and the network security issues of IOV become the focus in its development process, said China information and Communication Research Institute.

The Institute released the ‘White Paper Relating to the Network Security of Internet of Vehicle (2017)" yesterday, in which it said it is necessary to foster the safety of China's IOV, which is a top priority.

Resellers and service providers are the core parts of IOV security and that the security protection system of intelligent network vehicle and information service platform will be the key target of IOV security, the White Paper highlighted. The security protection strategy will cover five aspects of intelligent networking vehicles -- mobile intelligent terminals, service platform, communications security, data security and privacy protection.

IOV is not only to achieve the intelligent upgrading of vehicles. It is aimed at achieving interaction between the vehicle, road and people so that the vehicle can be intelligent driving in a complex road environment. China has introduced an IOV road test, including the tests for vehicle sensors, road sensors, communications, data processing and interactive capabilities.

China has set up the "5+2" vehicular networking demonstration zone pattern consisting of Beijing - Hebei, Chongqing, Zhejiang, Jilin, Hubei, Shanghai and Wuxi to carry out vehicular networking safety demonstration work.

IOV market development in China began in 2009, and its penetrability in 2010 was only 4 percent, but increased to 10 percent in 2015. The overall market size of China's vehicular networking market in 2020 is expected to reach CNY200 billion (USD30.7 billion).
