(Yicai Global) Aug. 5 -- China’s daily COVID-19 virus nucleic acid test capability had increased to 4.84 million by the end of last month, thus greatly enhancing the nation’s ability to avert further spread of the pandemic, according to Wang Jiangping,deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The number of medical institutes with the test capability has increased to 4,946 nationwide, Wang also said at the news conference today. This capacity was 3.78 million by the end of June and 1.26 million in early March.

This has enabled prompt testing of any person pinpointed as being high risk and satisfies the desire of any person to be tested, Wang noted.
