China Extends Anti-Dumping, Anti-Subsidy Tariffs on Solar-Grade Polysilicon Imported From EU

(Yicai Global) April 28 -- China will maintain anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tariffs on European solar-grade polysilicon, the primary material used to make crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said today in a final investigation review on its website.

MOFCOM said its suggestion based on the current and future market conditions prompted the Tariff Commission of the State Council to prolong the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties on solar-grade polysilicon imported from the EU by a year and a half, starting May 1, 2017.

The tax rates will remain the same as those stipulated on April 30, 2014. Imports will be subject to anti-dumping rates between 14.3 percent and 42 percent, and an anti-subsidy rate of 1.2 percent.
