(Yicai Global) Oct. 14 -- Qianxun Weizhi Internet Co., a satellite positioning technology company, has launched a positioning product called FindNow powered by China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System.
FindNow is compatible with the US's GPS and Russia's Glonass systems and can also serve end-users of the BeiDou system, which is owned by Qianxun Weizhi.
The product synthesizes the location-locating function of mobile communication devices and helps customers to quickly pinpoint their position. It can be widely applied to mobile phones, on-board navigation equipment and wearable equipment, Mr. Ran Chengqi, director of China's Satellite Navigation System Management Office and spokesperson of the BeiDou system, said.
FindNow will provide a more stable signal for the products of Qianxun Weizhi partners, such as terminal chip manufacturers Shanghai-based Spreadtrum Communications and Virginia-based MediaTek Inc. It will also incorporate the YunOS smartphone operating system developed by e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., a co-investor in Qianxun Weizhi, and provide more options for its users.
