China's Huawei Passes Cyberattack Test to Roll Out 5G China's Huawei Passes Cyberattack Test to Roll Out 5G

(Yicai Global) Jan. 4 -- Chinese telecoms giant Huawei Technologies has passed the latest round of security tests to come one step closer in launching the country's first fifth-generation mobile network for commercial use by 2020.

The IMT-2020 5G Promotion Group, jointly established by three Chinese ministries, organized the test involving cyberattack at the end of December last year, and the Shenzhen-based firm passed it with full marks, state-backed The Paper reported yesterday.

China has accelerated its 5G development to create a powerful online landscape that is fit for its companies' new technologies involving the Internet of Things. 5G is deemed to be almost 100 times faster than 4G, and more reliable.

Huawei's success in the tests shows that it is well-prepared to start operating a commercial 5G product, the report added.
