China’s Loan Balance Rose USD1.7 Trillion in First Half, PBOC Says China’s Loan Balance Rose USD1.7 Trillion in First Half, PBOC Says

(Yicai Global) July 31 -- The total balance of yuan-based loans in China’s banking system rose CNY12.1 trillion (USD1.7 trillion) to CNY165.2 trillion in the first half of this year, about CNY2.4 trillion more than the growth in the same period last year, the People’s Bank of China said today.

The balance of medium- and long-term loans in the industrial sector jumped CNY836.5 billion to CNY10 trillion during the period. For the service sector, the figure gained CNY3.3 trillion to CNY42.7 trillion and the balance of inclusive finance loans focusing on small and micro firms rose CNY2 trillion to CNY13.6 trillion.
