(Yicai Global) Oct. 11 -- China Nuclear E&C Group has embarked on a collaborative with China Export & Credit Insurance Corp. to jointly propel the project application and export of 4th-generation nuclear power technology.
The parties entered into a strategic cooperation agreement yesterday, as China Nuclear E&C Group's official website announced. The group will avail itself of the Belt and Road Initiative to establish an overseas project development platform and broaden international cooperation in the nuclear power industry, Gu Jun, the group's general manager stated during the signing ceremony.
Wangyi, chairman of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation also introduced the principal operations and developments of the company at the ceremony. The company will also support China Nuclear E&C Group in developing overseas markets, advising on business matters, managing risks and providing project finance.
China Nuclear E&C Group is a huge nuclear power enterprise directly under central government administration. It has undertaken most tasks of nuclear power station construction in China, and successfully built the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant in Pakistan to international cutting-edge construction standards.
China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation is a policy-related state-owned enterprise. It had insured domestic and oversea trade and investment projects in a total volume exceeding USD2.8 trillion and paid claims aggregating USD9.5 billion by the end of last year, thereby galvanizing China's foreign trade.
