(Yicai Global) June 24 -- Some 26 million passengers are expected to travel on China’s rail network during the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, almost half the number that travelled over the three-day public holiday last year, as the Covid-19 epidemic continues to hamper tourism, state broadcaster CCTV reported today.
Around 6.7 million people will set off on vacation today, followed by a further 19.3 million over the long weekend, according to the China State Railway Group.
