(Yicai Global) Nov. 30 -- China and the UK should intensify exchanges of personnel in the field of science and innovation as part of their efforts to advance the "Golden Era" of bilateral relations, a senior Chinese official said yesterday, state media Xinhua reported.

More than 40,000 British experts work in China each year, said Zhang Jianguo, vice minister of China's science and technology ministry and administrator of its foreign experts affairs agency.

China will adopt more active and open policies to welcome foreign specialists and professionals, Zhang said at the ceremony in the UK for the upcoming Conference on the International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) to run in Shenzhen April 15 to 16.
