Chinese Display Glass Maker Tunghsu Releases New Series of Graphene LED 'Super Lights'
(Yicai Global) Sept. 25 -- Flat panel dplay glass substrate maker Tunghsu Optoelectronic Technology Co. [SHE:000413], based in China's northern Hebei province, has introduced a new series of graphene LED 'super lights' at the 2017 International Graphene Innovation Conference, financial news outlet Shanghai Securities News reported on Sept. 25.>
The new product uses graphene for heat dsipation and conduction.
Their volume 75 percent lower than traditional LED lights and they are 30 percent lighter. Power-saving capacity 20 to 30 percent better and they provide high-performance luminescence and light dtribution.
The lights also boast a smart connection function, said product developer Chen Wei. Users can integrate information devices, transmit Wi-Fi hotspots, gather environmental information, monitor road security and act as emergency alarms.
Tunghsu Optoelectronic has upgraded and reconstructed a total of 200,000 graphene LED lights in Beijing and Zhejiang and Hainan provinces, among others. The company expects to develop synergies between the product and its new-energy vehicle business, said Chen.
The company also confirmed plans to invest CNY1 billion (USD151 million) in a smart city project related to super lights in Mudanjiang city, located in northern Heilongjiang province.
It will cooperate with Guangdong-based communication device manufacturer ZTE Corp. [SHE:000063] to promote the use of super lights in the Internet of Things market.
