(Yicai Global) June 25 -- Chinese health authority said today that it received reports of 19 new confirmed Covid-19 cases yesterday, of which 14 were domestically transmitted and five were imported.

Of the domestically transmitted cases, 13 were reported in Beijing and one in Hebei province, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

Of the imported cases, three were reported in Gansu province, one in Guangdong province and one in Shaanxi province, according to the commission.

No deaths or new suspected cases were reported yesterday on the mainland.

As of yesterday, the mainland had reported a total of 1,893 imported cases. Of the cases, 1,805 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery and 88 were being treated, the commission said.

The commission said five people were discharged from hospitals after recovery yesterday while the number of severe cases increased by three to 15.

The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 83,449 by yesterday, including 382 patients who were still being treated, 78,433 people who had been discharged after recovery, and 4,634 people who died of the disease.

The commission said 13 people were still suspected of being infected with the virus.

It added that 8,011 close contacts were still under medical observation while 415 people were discharged from medical observation yesterday.

Also yesterday, a new asymptomatic case from abroad was reported on the mainland. The commission said 97 suspected asymptomatic cases, including 57 from overseas, were still under medical observation.

By the end of yesterday, 1,179 confirmed cases had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including six deaths), 45 in the Macau Special Administrative Region and 446 in Taiwan (including seven deaths).

A total of 1,086 patients in Hong Kong, 45 in Macau and 435 in Taiwan have been discharged from hospital after recovery.
