(Yicai Global) Sept. 24 -- China's mainland stock markets finished the day lower amid sell-off pressures coming from overseas as the world is dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic not quite as fast as anticipated.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed down 1.72 percent at 3,223.18. The Shenzhen Component Index dived to 12,816.61, down 2.24 percent. The ChiNext, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, slumped 2.46 percent to 2,535.87.
