(Yicai Global) Nov. 27 -- The first logistics center focused on agricultural products imported from China to Central and Eastern Europe opened in the Thrace Economic Zone, located on the outskirts of Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second largest city on Nov. 24, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The logistics center, which includes an exhibition pavilion, provides a platform for e-commerce and will facilitate trade, sales, display and distribution of agricultural products.
More than ten agricultural products companies from China and more than 20 Bulgarian agricultural firms attended the inauguration ceremony.
Tremendous strides have been made in agricultural cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries led by Bulgaria in recent years, which resulted in the first agricultural cooperation demonstration zone opened, said Zhang Haizhou, Chinese ambassador to Bulgaria, at the ceremony.
Plovdiv, located in central Bulgaria, is more than 140 kilometers from the capital Sofia and one of Bulgaria's major agricultural areas.
