(Yicai Global) April 21 -- Germany has replaced China as the world's second most attractive investment destination, per A.T. Kearney's Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index report, which was released on April 19.
European investors are bullish on Germany in the wake of Brexit and the country has its own growing robust economy. These factors helped it climb the ranks to the its highest level in the 20 years since the index's release. Real estate investment in Germany outpaced that in the UK for the first time in over four years during 2016's third quarter after the Brexit referendum in June.
Data shows the economic growth of Germany reached 1.7 percent last year, indicating strong growth for a developed European country. Germany's high productivity level, highly skilled labor force, and first-class infrastructure attract investors.
Although investors are more optimistic about the Chinese economy than they were last year, China dropped to the third place after maintaining second for four years in a row.
The US has topped the list for five straight years.
