(Yicai Global) April 3 -- Guangzhou Haige Communications Group Inc. will provide wireless communications, Beidou satellite navigation system and supporting equipment to a unit of China’s People’s Liberation Army, PLA, it said.
The company signed a CNY129 million (USD20 million) contract to provide a special unit of PLA with communications and navigation equipment, Haige said in a statement today.
The contract shows that the demand for procurement increased after the reform of China’s military system, the statement said, adding the company has secured more than CNY1.2 billion worth of military contracts over the past five months, consolidating its leading position in the industry.
Beidou satellite navigation is a satellite positioning service system developed by China. It provides land, sea and air navigation and positioning services for military and civilian use in the vast country and its neighboring areas.
Haige Communications has formed a development and service capacity for full industry chain products in the field of military communications and navigation ranging from chips, modules and antennas to system and operation services, creating business advantages, the statement added.
