(Yicai Global) Dec. 14 -- HNA Group Co., reportedly inclined to sell its overseas assets to ease its financial straits, said yesterday CNY310 billion (USD45.15 billion) remains unused of its lines of credit from major financiers and the group is now running smoothly.

A spate of overseas mergers and acquisitions in recently years has exerted growing financial pressure on the conglomerate, which is negotiating with bankers to sell portions of its overseas assets to repay its over USD100 billion in debt, The Wall Street Journal reported at the end of November.

HNA bought many overseas assets at a relatively high valuation, so the group has difficulty in profiting from their divestment, the report noted.

HNA maintains sound relations with major financial institutions both at home and abroad, which have granted as much as CNY817 billion in lines of credit to it, with CNY310 billion unused, per the report by cailianpress.com.

Its major businesses -- air travel, modern logistics and financial services -- are on a continuous upward track, with a growing synergy among its acquired units, the group also claimed.
