(Yicai Global) July 9 -- Shenzhen-based telecoms equipment giant Huawei Technologies registered 2,314 patents in the first half of this year, ranking its first among all mainland-registered firms, according to the China National Intellectual Property Administration.

China Petroleum & Chemical, a listed arm of the Sinopec Group, followed with 1,595 and phonemaker Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications -- whose parent company also owns rivals Vivo and OnePlus --  came third with 1,312.
