(YIcai Global) Nov. 10 -- Leshi Holdings (Beijing) Co. founder Jia Yueting won the second round of a legal battle with software engineer and freelance writer Gu Yingqiong.

The King County Superior Court in Washington in the US reviewed Jia’s temporary injunction against Gu at a hearing this morning (Beijing time).

Gu recently returned to China, and was a no-show. A lawyer represented Jia.

“I lost the case,” Gu said, indicating that the court approved Jia’s application to extend the duration of the temporary injunction.

The hearing lasted about 20 minutes. The judge indicated that the key point is whether the information about Jia that Gu disseminated is accurate, and if it is not, Gu will be prohibited from releasing and distributing such info, Gu said.

Jia had previously applied for a temporary injunction forbidding Gu from harassing or tracking Jia or outing his private information at a court in Los Angeles, California.

The court denied Jia’s application on Oct. 19 due to jurisdiction issues. Jia applied for a temporary injunction at the King County Superior Court, near where Gu lived and worked.

Aside from applications for injunctions, Jia instituted formal proceedings at both courts for defamation.

Gu publishes online using the handle Dryingqionggu. He has circulated personal information about Jia since July. His posts about Jia’s villa in the US and a USD75.3 million (CNY500 million) trust fund for his daughter attracted public attention.

Leshi has issued several statements denying Gu’s reports and saying it will prosecute Gu in China and America.

On Nov. 2, Jia denied establishing a trust fund in the US at an interview in Los Angeles, where Faraday Future (which Jia joined to head global corporate communications) is based.

“Gu once asked me for USD1 million to settle the issue, but I will not give him a penny let alone USD1 million,” Jia said.

Gu said the amount was USD200,000 in an article he published on Nov. 8.
