Lunchmeat Further Feeds China's Mainland Stock Markets' Gains at Half Break

(Yicai Global) March 5 -- China's mainland stock markets went even higher after a strong opening this morning, with the main benchmarks all closing 1 percent up at lunch time, led by firms in the food processing and agriculture sectors.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 1.4 percent higher at 3,053.91 at the half break. The Shenzhen Component Index stopped at 11,621.21, up 1.12 percent and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, rose 1.04 percent to 2,192.03.

A dozen firms in the processed food sector surged to the 10 percent limit up, led by Jinzi Ham [SHE:002515], a meat processor based in the famous ham producing hub of Jinhua in China's eastern Zhejiang province, which stopped trading at CNY5.74 (USD0.83).
