(Yicai Global) Feb. 22 -- Bike-sharing firms Mobike Technology Co. and Ofo Bicycle Co. have been shortlisted for Company of Year at this year's ChinaBang Awards, an annual award ceremony celebrating and recognizing China's best startups.
Other sharing economy startups on the short list include leading live-streaming platform Yingke, popular photo beautifying app Meitu, and the world's leading drone maker DJI Technology, ChinaBang said in a statement today. The firms made it onto the list for showing significant growth or innovative technologies and received at least angel round funding, but have not gone public.
Now in its sixth year, ChinaBang highlights the best of the country's startups and entrepreneurs. This year features 193 of China's best companies across a wide range of verticals and industries, including Didi Chuxing, Xiaomi, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and many more. The awards ceremony will be held in Changzhou in the eastern province of Jiangsu on March 17.
Across all categories, 60 percent of the decision comes from an online voting system, now open, while the remainder comes from a panel of experts that include respected venture capital partners and entrepreneurs, the statement said.
Awards this year cover 20 categories including Company of the Year, Founder of the Year, Best Accelerator/Incubator of the Year, Best Hardware of the Year, Best Sharing Economy Service of the Year, and Best Live-Streaming Platform of the Year. ChinaBang is organized by TechNode, a leading tech media that uncovers the latest news on start-up entrepreneurs, investors, large companies, and industry trends in China and Asia.
