(Yicai Global) Nov. 10 -- Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China Ltd.'s [SHA:601318; HK:2318] private wealth management platform, Ping An Cai Fu Bao, outed the 2017 National Wealth Anxiety Report in Shanghai yesterday.

More than three fourths of those interviewed had mild levels of "anxiety over wealth," mainly caused by elderly care, health care, education costs and the preservation and establishment of wealth, the report said.

Ping An Cai Fu Bao and Fang Fang, dean of the Peking University's School of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences, selected over 2,000 customers of the former in 30 cities to survey and conducted in-depth interviews with some of them.

The report features a national "anxiety chart." The wealth anxiety score's countrywide average was 43.71. Some 17.6 percent of interviewees said they have low levels of anxiety, with a score of less than 34. Some 78 percent said they suffer from mild anxiety, with a score between 34 and 62. The remaining 4.4 percent said they are extremely anxious about their wealth security, with a score above 62.

Mildly anxious respondents were a bit nervous and uneasy about wealth-related matters, but their concerns have not disturbed their daily life or work.

Nearly 90 percent of those surveyed said "inflation" was the source of their apprehension. More than 70 percent said that the "lack of quality investment channels" troubled them.
