(Yicai Global) Nov. 5 -- Nanyang Technology will showcase six 'Rainbow' series of unmanned aerial vehicles and three 'Archer' series of small air-to-ground missiles at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Zhuhai Airshow) 2018 this week.
The Zhuhai Airshow in Zhuhai city, Guangdong province, runs from Nov. 6 to 11.
The UAV and missile products were jointly developed by Nanyang Technology's wholly owned affiliate Rainbow Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and its majority owned affiliate Aerospace Shenzhou Aircraft, the Zhejiang province-based manufacturer of electronic thin film for capacitors said today.
In the UAVs' Rainbow series, the CH-7 is a stealth combat UAV that has high altitude, high speed, stealth capability and endurance. It can conduct many missions under dangerous conditions, including reconnaissance, surveillance, combat support, launch missiles or guide other weapons to strike high-value targets.
CH-7 can effectively compress the detection range of enemy radar and continuously suppress the enemy's air defense firepower. The company said it had already entered the engineering prototype development stage.
The unmanned rotorcraft CH-10 is capable of helicopter-like vertical take-off & landing and hovering. Its fixed-wing aircraft has high speed and long voyage ability, and can perform tasks such as reconnaissance, communication relay, search, target indication, and relay guidance. CH-10 is ready for testing, according to Nanyang Technology.
The Rainbow series UAVs have independent intellectual property rights and complete product spectrum, and have achieved mass production.
Nanyang Technology, however, did not give any details about the performance of its missile products.
Another Chinese UAV developer, Changying Xinzhi Technology, said in September that it will be exhibiting its medium-to-high-altitude long-range military UAV system at the show.
