(Yicai Global) Jan. 25 -- China's mainland stock markets climbed higher into lunchtime while new energy firms, especially those related to lithium batteries and solar power, took the lead.
The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.56 percent to 3,627.01 by the half break. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 15,807.68, up 1.15 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, rose 1.38 percent to 3,404.67.
Shares of Tianqi Lithium [SHE:002466} jumped by 10 percent to CNY70.07 (USD10.80). Battery maker Gcl System Integration Technology's stock price [SHE:002506] also climbed by the daily limit.
