Shanghai Reports 10 New Imported COVID-19 Cases Shanghai Reports 10 New Imported COVID-19 Cases

(Yicai Global) March 23 -- Shanghai intercepted 10 more COVID-19 cases yesterday to bring its total to 66 cases from abroad, the city's health commission announced this morning.

Five of the new additions are Chinese citizens, two are a French mother and daughter, and the other three are UK, Spanish and US nationals, the commission said.

Three arrived in the eastern Chinese financial hub from the UK and three from the US, while the rest traveled to the eastern city from France, the UAE and central Africa's Burkina Faso, according to the commission.

Authorities have traced 47 people who had been in contact with these patients during their journeys and have placed them under quarantine, it added.

The city also has another 18 suspected cases, all involving people who have recently traveled overseas, who are undergoing further tests.

Shanghai had unearthed no new cases that would suggest ongoing domestic transmission as of yesterday, though a potential one is undergoing tests, while another patient was discharged yesterday after a full recovery, the commission noted.

Among the city's total of 404 patients, four have died, 10 are in critical condition, and 62 are stable. Some 328 people have fully recovered and been released from hospital, according to the commission.
