Shanghai Hosts Award Ceremony for March Towards 2040: Corporate Innovation & Urban Sustainable Development

(Yicai Global) Sept. 11 -- The award ceremony for the March Towards 2040: Corporate Innovation & Urban Sustainable Development best case selection and high-level forum were successfully held in Shanghai.

Some 86 domestic and foreign companies submit 100 applications since June. After expert evaluation and a public vote, 55 won the 2017 Sustainable Action Influence Award, including those from Anheuser Busch Inbev NV [NYSE:BUD], Robert Bosch GmbH and World Financial Center, and 17 won the 2017 Sustainable Action Dissemination Influence Award, including those from Coca-Cola Co. [NYSE:KO], Adidas AG [ETR:ADS], State Grid Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Co., Unilever plc [LON:ULVR], Bayer AG [ETR:BAYN] and Mobike Technology Co.

With China pursuing innovation-driven development and Shanghai striving to become a city of innovation, Shanghai companies have been able to discover opportunities, innovate business models and integrate sustainable development into their strategies by examining environmental and social problems, said Yu Zhihong, an expert from GoldenBee (Beijing) Management Consulting Co.

This year's award-winning cases focus on urban sustainable development and tell stories of how domestic and foreign companies work with Shanghai to build a city of innovation, ecology and culture. Shared bikes and electric bicycles using liquefied air oxygen combustion technology reduce carbon emissions, and smart lighting solutions illustrate how Shanghai encourages companies to develop solutions to problems in the city and meet new demand to promote the city's overall operation.

The event also put up a Sustainable Action Dissemination Influence Award for the first time to encourage more firms to spread the stories of Shanghai's development.
