(Yicai Global) May 14 -- E-commerce leviathan Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. struck a cooperative deal today with Sichuan Airlines Co., headquartered in southwestern China, which will set up a store on Fliggy, Alibaba’s online tourism service platform, as an important move in Fliggy’s new Online Travel Marketplace (OTM) model.
A search of the Sichuan Airlines store on the mobile app Fliggy will no longer display a ticket-buying schedule as a result, but the online brand flagship store of Sichuan Airlines, where customers can purchase tickets, check in and obtain flight information in a one-stop manner. Users will also get memberships and discount information, be able to book custom holiday routes Sichuan Airlines offers and buy its peripheral products.
“The setup of the Alibaba Marketing Center and the launch of the Fliggy brand flagship store are two key moves in Fliggy’s development of the OTM model,” said Hu Chenjie, Fliggy’s vice president.
