(Yicai Global) July 4 -- Chinese chemical product maker Tronly New Electronic Materials will work with South Korean display giant LG to set up test laboratory for the production of organic light-emitting diode materials.

The two parties have signed a contract for the lab's construction and operation, the Changzhou-based firm said in a statement, without providing financial details.

The global OLED panel market is dominated by LG's compatriot Samsung. In recent years, China has risen to prominence locally with various OLED projects coming online. LG is reportedly preparing to build a Chinese OLED panel plant in the southern city of Guangzhou.

Tronly will be responsible for the construction and the provision of utilities for the facility, while LG Chem China will install and operate relevant evaluation devices. The statement did not provide specific details on devices to be used at the lab or potential clients.
