(Yicai Global) Feb. 7 -- Xiongan New Area's official Chinese-English website has recently come on line.
China's Xiongan New Area recently released and put into trial operation its official bilingual website (xiongan.gov.cn), which Xinhuanet Co. developed.
The site will act as an authoritative information counter and name card for internet users inclined to discover this new area, this new media unit of China's state-run Xinhua News Agency said yesterday. It is assuming the site's operation and the construction of other information platforms, with the overall cost projected at up to CNY30 million.
At the start of April, the central government decided to establish the Xiongan New Area in China's east-central Hebei province 125 kilometers to the southwest of Beijing, with its initial area covering around 100 square kilometers per plan. Aside from relocating those businesses irrelevant to Beijing's capital functions to this area, China also aims to optimize the overall city distribution and spatial structure in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region via this new zone, and at the same time bring in new driving forces for innovation-based development.
The Xiongan New Area is a development zone with national significance following the pattern of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and Shanghai's Pudong New Area.
