Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang’s fireworks display, sponsored by Arc’teryx, took place at an altitude of between 4,670 and 5,020 meters in the Himalayas, affecting 30 hectares of grassland, CCTV reported today, citing the results of an official investigation. Over 1,000 fireworks were set off by the outdoor apparel firm, causing soil damage, scattered debris and disturbance to local wildlife.
