The number of overseas tourists claiming China's departure tax refund surged 230% in the first nine months of this year from a year ago, while the tax refund amount almost doubled, according to data released by the State Taxation Administration today. The country has launched a series of measures to optimize its tax refund system for foreign tourists since April.
