China Vanke’s shares [SHE: 000002] surged by their 10 percent daily trading limit to close at CNY5.25 (74 US cents) each in Shenzhen today, while several of the homebuilder's onshore bonds jumped by more than 30 percent. The rally coincided with a bondholders' meeting to consider the firm's proposal to extend repayment of a CNY2 billion note (USD293 million) coming due mid-month.
