Some 183 million cars were sold under China’s trade-in program since its launch in March 2024 as of the end of 2025, with NEVs accounting for 60% of the total, the Ministry of Commerce said today. The policy has driven consumer good sales by CNY3.92 trillion (USD560 billion), benefiting 494 million consumers.
