Offshore duty-free shops in China's Hainan province logged sales of CNY4.5 billion (USD652 million) in January, up 45% from a year earlier, CCTV learned from the Haikou customs authority. Shops welcomed about 560,000 customers, who bought over 3.36 million items, up 21% and 14%, respectively.
