The fire that broke out from the driver’s seat of a Xiaomi Auto SU7 in Yingkou, China’s northeastern Liaoning province, was caused by an ignition source left inside the vehicle, which ignited surrounding combustible materials, Xiaomi said yesterday. The issue was unrelated to the vehicle battery itself, the Chinese tech giant noted.
